further information

from a rumour propigated by the purveyor of the john cooper clarke website came the suggestion that this is none other than pauline murray taking the piss out of her friend, john cooper clarke.   the title, for those of you who aren't as acquainted with mancunian in-jokes as you should be, is a reference to john cooper clarke - the cult figure from salford - and one of his more famous songs, "i married a monster from outerspace".

having located a copy (thank you anna!) and listened to it, it is indeed people taking the piss out of that famous "crooner" from salford.   sort of a revenge piece from the ex-wife mentioned in the aforementioned "monster".   quite a lineup, too.   though i'm just guessing here, lynn oakey, mike rowe, steve gilbert, and mike patrick are probably using their real names - and all have been linked with the invisible girls in the past.   cathy may be pauline and smudgeboy is probably our man, martin hannett.   only those involved can tell us for certain, and as of press time, we've had no comment.   by the way, is "wayne sedgeman" wayne hussey's real name?   hussey worked on pauline murray's "animals" 10", you know...
